Son-Dance,
Happy to hear you reached Mt. Katahdin. We crossed paths (literally) 26 July 2010, on the Crawford Path, and later that day at the Mispah Spring AMC Hut. Your discription of your passage through Mahoosic Notch brought back fond (painfull) memories! See you on the trail some day.

Totally awesome! Congratulations, mon ami! Glad I am that the fruition of your trek has been so fulfilling. There'll be a ceremonial dram of Scotia's best lifted in your honor tonight!

Hi Paul, Wayne Carter from the Marine Corps here. You look the same as you did 32 years ago. Remember Frank Thompson, now an attorney in Escondido ...he made Colonel in the reserves. I am still in CA but have moved around since the 70s. Sorry to see that "Big Herm" is no longer with you. Are you and "Big Mac" still together?

Hi Paul,
This is Sue from the Rangeley Library. I'm so glad your hike is going well. I pray for you and your wife as you finish together. Your site and trail journals are great. Hope you get to see a real moose! God bless your hike and fundraising.

Hey Son-Dance- if you don't get to see any moose up-close, fear not! I got some good photos of a flower-munching moose before I left the frozen north and I'll send them your way. Safe and Happy Hiking with Rainbow Brite!

Hello, Son Dance, perhaps for the last time on this trail journal. You’re so close to that final step, and I am glad to have been able to walk the path along with you, even if only through your shared thoughts through this medium. Glad Rainbow Bright will be there to walk those last steps with you, and that the quest has been as fulfilling as you had wished. Hope we’ll see you back in the land of awesome heat and humidity soon!

What a journey you have had, and for such a very good reason. My own grandmother and great grandmother, though we never heard the word alzheimers, were lost in a world of their own in the years before their death. I would like to tell you a quick "small world" story. I received a call from my dear friend. We grew up together, attended schools together and are still very close. Cindy, is Skip MacDonald's sister - your wife's aunt.

Also, after the loss of my mom, my dad married Betty West the grandmother of Chet West. They had known each other from when they were young. She is a very unique and special woman who dearly loves all members of her family, both by blood and by marriage. It's a pleasure following your journey.
