I was pleased to read the article in today’s Catholic Review, but disheartened to learn of your father’s health. I can still remember seeing him as a First Lieutenant walking proudly down Milton Avenue in good old East Baltimore in 1945-46 and later as a Postal employee. Please give my regards to your
    Mother, Fran.

Just like being back in the post office. Neither sleet, nor rain, nor snow, or whatever will keep you from your hike. Keep trekking. Godspeed and a safe journey.

Paul: So nice meeting you and talking with you last night at The Doyle in downtown Duncannon (aka “Fun”cannon), Pennsylvania. I wish you well on the remainder of your trip. Hospice just called me to give me an update on my dad and that prompted me to E-mail you.
I’ll continue to read your journal and maybe once you’ve completed your journey north, you can take a drive up to PA from MD and tell “Bluebird” and I of the rest of your travels. By then, maybe Bluebird will have found a publisher for her book. Hang in there Paul - set an example for us other 50+ers.

    Hi Paul,
It was truly a priviledge last week to talk with you and hear your testimony and lift you up to the Father together. We’re still lifting you up and praying for your protection and success and the other things we addressed. Also, thank you for adding us in your experiences and journaling. Best wishes always! Son Dance,
It was a pleasure to meet you and Rainbow Bright at Monkton Station. You surely had a wonderful example in your father. He must certainly be missed by everyone who knew him. He is at peace and has all his memories again. One day, a glorious reunion and you can tell him all about the Trail. God bless as you finish from VT to Katahdin. If we can help in any way let us know. Also, read our website for info that may help you up north. Hope to see you on the Trail again. We ride the Parkton to Sparks section of the Rail Trail 1-2 times a week. Watch for us. Slim & Bogey

    Son-Dance,
Happy to hear you reached Mt. Katahdin. We crossed paths (literally) 26 July 2010, on the Crawford Path, and later that day at the Mispah Spring AMC Hut. Your discription of your passage through Mahoosic Notch brought back fond (painfull) memories! See you on the trail some day.
    Blake
