Herm’s Hike – Giving the Boot to Alzheimer’s!

5 Million Steps for 5 Million Victims

In April 2009, I will step off Springer Mountain to hike for the 5 million Alzheimer’s victims around the country. I am hoping to raise $10,000 for Alzheimer’s research and support. With your help, I can meet that goal. Ultimately, I would like to raise a penny for every footstep along the trail, but I’ll take it one step and one penny at a time.

This blog will be used to share my experiences on the trail. It’s a work in progress – first I have to learn how it works;-)

Stayed tuned for more…

    DEAR PAUL AND KATHY,

I AM A FRIEND OF MARK AND BRENDA. I HAVE MET YOU BEFORE AT THEIR HOUSE AND AT LINDA RAY’S. I ALSO BOUGHT A BOOK FOR MY DAD AND ONE FOR MY STEP DAD FOR CHRISTMAS 2007.

ANYWAY, MARK IS VERY EXCITED TO BE GOING ON YOUR ADVENTURE. HE SHOWED US ALL HIS GEAR!

WE WANTED TO MAKE A DONATION IN HONOR OF YOUR DAD AND WE ARE SENDING A CHECK FOR $25 TO THE ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION.

MY MOTHER MARIE BARTH WHO IS GOING TO BE 80 ON JULY 1ST HAS SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS, MY GRANDMOTHER, AND LEN’S DAD DIED WITH IT ALSO. IT IS A TERRIBLE DISEASE AND I HOPE A CURE IS FOUND ASAP.

WELL, I WISH YOU AND MARK A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE HIKE.

    SINCERELY,

    KATHY HENRY

    P.S.
KATHY I CAN’T IMAGINE WHAT IT WAS LIKE FOR YOU HIKING WITH YOUR HUSBAND ON THE TRAIL BUT YOU SURE MAKE THE FEMALES PROUD!!!!

Hey there Son-Dance! It was so nice to meet you and Mother Nature yesterday. I hope you had an enjoyable stay at the church hostel.

Have a wonderful journey along the AT. Remember, it’s mind over mountain. Just keep your head in the game, continue to enjoy every day and you will reach your destiny

    Hike on Paul!!
